Job Responsibilities
As our Float Teacher, you will provide instructional services for students with multiple disabilities including visual impairment and evaluate students as required. You will adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the classroom teacher. You will also oversee the normal classroom rhythms and activities, including providing support and direction for teaching assistants. As the Teacher Float, you will be required to support students with daily living skills, including hygiene and mealtime. You may also be required to plan, prepare and implement appropriate educational goals for each student as well as provide a variety of adapted materials and aids as appropriate for each student if you are assigned to cover a teacher leave of absence.
Responsibilities
- Meets educational requirements and qualifies for certification/licensure while updating and expanding knowledge
- Demonstrates understanding of the general curriculum, expanded core curriculum, and subject matter/area of expertise
- Ability to substitute for teachers as needed
- Determines present levels of performance by reviewing background information and conducting informal and formal assessments
- Develops and prioritizes measurable objectives for learners; plans short term and long term instruction or clinical strategies to address individual objectives.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university required, Master's Degree in Special Education
- First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) required
