Job Description
DHH Specialist – Fall 2025 Specialty Teaching Positions

We're partnering with an innovative school district to bring on a dedicated Special Education Teacher with expertise in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services. In this full-time, itinerant role, you’ll travel between campuses to ensure students with hearing impairments receive the individualized support they need to learn, connect, and thrive.

As a DHH specialist, you’ll craft and deliver personalized instruction using a mix of American Sign Language (ASL), assistive tech tools, and inclusive strategies that meet each student where they are. You’ll work closely with general education staff, families, and IEP teams to foster academic growth, independence, and meaningful social interaction.

This is more than a teaching position—it’s a chance to champion accessibility and empower students to unlock their full potential. We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, student-focused, and excited to drive impact across multiple learning environments.

Requirements
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a closely related field, along with a valid Georgia Professional Educator License (PEL) that includes an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education. Strong communication skills are essential, and fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred. Ideal applicants will have hands-on experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing within educational settings, as well as a solid understanding of the IEP process and the delivery of classroom accommodations tailored to individual student needs.
