We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to fill a temporary role covering maternity leave in a middle school self-contained classroom. This assignment will run from mid-October 2025 through January 2026. The classroom serves a small group of five students and is supported by two paraprofessionals to ensure individualized attention and instructional support.

In this role, you will maintain a structured and supportive learning environment while planning and delivering individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals. You will track both academic and behavioral progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with paraprofessionals to support student learning and partner with families and the multidisciplinary team to promote overall student success.

Requirements
To qualify, candidates should have experience working in an educational setting, with proven success as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar role. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required, while a master’s degree is considered a plus. Applicants must hold an Illinois PEL with a special education (LSB1) endorsement—no other certifications will be accepted at this time.
