Student Teacher Job Description
Prospect Ridge Academy is seeking enthusiastic and motivated student teachers who are currently enrolled in a teacher preparation program. This position provides future educators with the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a classroom setting, working under the direct supervision and mentorship of a certified teacher. The student teacher will support the implementation of effective instructional strategies, contribute to classroom management, and participate in school-wide activities and professional development.
Duties and Responsibilities Work collaboratively with a mentor teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state and school standards. Assist in designing and modifying instructional materials to meet diverse student needs. Support classroom management strategies to create a positive and productive learning environment. Assess student understanding through informal and formal measures and adjust instruction accordingly. Reflect on teaching practices and participate in regular feedback and evaluation sessions. Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, and school events as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an accredited teacher preparation program. Approved by your college/university and PRA to complete a student teaching placement. Demonstrated interest in teaching and working with children and adolescents. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
