*Responsibilities:*
*Instructional Strategies*
* Plan, prepare using a backwards design approach, deliver lesson plans. and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
* Provide ELL push in and/or pull out instruction to students in grades Kindergarten-5th grade
* Assist in developing language acquisition support plans (ELL plans) for all ELL students and work with classroom teachers to implement plans
* Work cooperatively with colleagues (i.e. Classroom teachers, Special Education teacher, RISE, and MISE, etc.) to adapt materials and differentiate instruction to make sure all students can participate
* Provide professional development to Pre K Staff on how to support English Language Learners
* Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
* Use small group and one-on-one instruction when implementing strategies for all learners in the classroom
* Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
* Intellectually engage students during the delivery of lessons using Webb’s Depth of Knowledge, to inspire curiosity, reinforce the joy of learning, and enable all students to thrive
* Be a problem solver; You are not frustrated by setbacks — you see them as an opportunity for growth
*Students Growth and Development *
* Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal assessments
* Maintain proper documentation to comply with school policies (i.e.Report Cards, Data Collection, Google Gradebook, etc)
* Assist in administering required language proficiency and academic achievement tests for determining placement for students in grades Kindergarten-5th grade, along with ongoing monitoring of student progress
* Provide appropriate feedback on student work/assessment and set goals for improvement
* Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust classroom instruction as needed
* Use student work and assessment data to inform instruction and targeted intervention that drives student achievement
* Implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
*Classroom Management*
* Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and practicing rules and procedures
* Establish and maintain positive relationships with students to ensure their success in the classroom
* Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
* Maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s Code of Conduct
*Communication*
* Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, and supervisors
* Maintain a professional level of confidentiality concerning personal information
* Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
* Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
* Develop meaningful relationships with students and families
*Other*
* Know the school’s vision
* Ensure that your instructional practice is aligned with the school’s vision
* Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
* Participate in an annual two week preservice

* Supports the goals of the school and follows school policies
