NOW HIRING! BHASD is currently seeking an energetic and dynamic Emotional Support Teacher for Grades 4-8 (contract position). The Emotional Support Teacher provides academic and behavior support to students while collaborating with teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and parents regarding use of positive behavior interventions and supports so that all students are successful and able to access their education.

QUALIFICATIONS Valid PA teaching certificate in Special Education Certification K-12 Bachelor's degree in Special Education Experience working with children/adolescents with emotional and behavioral needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring behavior support strategies Experience conducting and applying Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) Experience with data collection and progress monitoring related to behavior and academic goals Knowledge of trauma informed practices and MTSS/RtI frameworks Familiarity with Safety-Care strategies and protocols

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Certification in Safety-Care or other crisis intervention programs (e.g., QBS) Training or background in restorative practices, SEL instruction, or therapeutic support models. Experience using behavior data systems and tools for documentation and analysis. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and service providers.

SCHEDULE Full Time contracted position to start August 12, 2025 at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year upon completion of pre-employment requirements and School Board approval.
