QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience delivering ELL services or other targeted literacy instruction

Certification in ESOL or other NH ED endorsement area with a literacy focus

REPORTS TO:

Building Principal(s), Director of Student Services, and Coordinator(s) of Student Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluates language skills upon entry utilizing required testing/screening materials. Selects age appropriate materials that are aligned with the level of language proficiency. Implements individualized and small group language programs which emphasize vocabulary, basic language skills and American culture. Completes assessments aligned with district practices and state requirements. Facilitates ACCESS testing annually. Knowledge and understanding of timelines for screening and ACCESS testing Provides classroom teachers and guidance personnel with relevant native-culture materials and information on the needs of individual students. Maintains a record of program participants and data tracking tools to monitor progress. Reports on student progress when necessary. Participates in team meetings for dually identified students to determine services, as needed. Collaborate with school administration and staff to facilitate full student participation in the academic program. Collaborates with native language interpreters and relevant community agencies. Performs such other duties as directed by Building Principal(s), Director of Student Services, and Coordinator(s) of Student Services.
