Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY Teach music education to assigned students; direct choral music groups and activities; assist in preparing and implementing special musical programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Credential: Single Subject - Music or Multiple Subject with music authorization 2. Education: Bachelor's degree with a major in music education or equivalent academic preparation including all courses needed to meet credential requirements. 3. Minimum Experience: Successful student teaching is required for the credential. 4. Personal Qualities: Grooming and personality, which establish a desirable example for pupils. Good physical and mental health. Better than average recommendations from student teaching supervision or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and classroom performance of the teacher. 5. Ability to: Play the piano and sing at an advanced level. 6. Teachers new to the district must be authorized by the State of California to teach English Learners.
