Elementary Special Education Teacher

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching Certificate Must meet NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher requirements. Ability to develop and conduct individual educational plans, behavior intervention plans and to progress monitor student growth. Experience in managing and working in any special education classroom

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Master's Degree Dual Special Education Endorsements Modify and adapt general education curriculum to meet the varied needs of students with disabilities when appropriate. Develop differentiated lesson plans designed to address specific individualized IEP goals. Maintain attendance records and other data, records, and reports required by the program supervisor. Adhere to all policies and procedures of Haslett Public Schools Establish and maintain constructive professional relationships with building staff. Maintain classroom area and furnishings in appropriate condition. Maintain, store, utilize and protect records. Cooperatively work with any paraprofessional assigned and supervise participating volunteers and student trainees. Conduct IEP and other general caseload management duties. Participate in team meetings. Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings. Provide assistance to substitute teaching personnel as needed. Perform all job-related duties assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Special Education
