Phaxis Education is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for an elementary school caseload (K5th grade) in Waukegan, IL. This is a school-based contract position with the option to renew. Special Education Teacher Job Details:

• Job Type: Onsite
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time
• Caseload: Grades K5
• Setting: Onsite in a public school

Special Education Teacher Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education (required)
• Active or pending Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (or eligibility)
• Experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred
• Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available)
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply

Special Education Teacher Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEP-aligned instructional strategies tailored to individual student goals
• Modify curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
• Foster a structured, supportive classroom environment using positive behavior interventions
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to ensure student success
• Track and report student progress through assessments, data collection, and documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team planning
