Thorpe Elementary School seeks an excellent Physical Education & Wellness Teacher. We are looking for a teacher who is committed to reaching all students, raising achievement through a rigorous and relevant curriculum, and supporting a school culture of excellence and joyful learning. The employee is a member of our Health & Wellness team. This position involves teaching Health and Physical Education classes grades K-5. Reports To: Thorpe School Principal Anticipated start date for this position will be August 27, 2025 The Physical Education & Wellness Teacher will be responsible for the following in addition to other duties as assigned by their primary supervisor:
  • Working with and for Students:
  • Aligning curricular standards with state guidelines
  • Promoting health and wellness initiatives within the school and community
  • Documenting annual, unit, and lesson plans correlated to state standards
  • Monitoring student progress through standards-based assessments
  • Analyzing student data
  • Differentiating instruction
  • Supporting, planning, and community projects
  • Input academic and behavioral data on the school data management system
  • Analyze student data and monitor student progress through standards-based assessments Working with and for Families:
  • Participate in Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences
  • Communicate regularly with families about academic and social progress
  • Working with and for Colleagues
  • Build and maintain a strong school culture centered on student achievement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the success of the school mission
  • Participate in professional development sessions
  • Participate in grade-level team meetings
  • Inputting academic and behavioral data into the school data management system Qualifications:
