Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Math and Science Substitute Teacher to join our vibrant community. This is a long-term substitute position currently from August 4th to end of October. The ideal candidate will inspire young minds and educate them using our rigorous standards-based curriculum that emphasizes 21st-century skills.
Responsibilities:
- Teach elementary-level math and science concepts with a focus on fostering a deep understanding of fundamental skills and the ability to apply them in real-world situations.
- Implement engaging and innovative lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners and promote problem-solving, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to integrate math and science with other disciplines and enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
- Assess student progress through formal and informal methods and tailor instruction to meet the needs of each student.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians about students' progress and engage them in the educational process.
- Maintain gradebooks and create lesson plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in elementary education preferred.
- Proven experience as an elementary math/science teacher.
- Strong understanding of math/science concepts and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and creative.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
