Elementary Classroom Long Term Substitute Teacher (TK-5)

Supervisor:School Principal

DOL Status: Temporary Full-time

Exemption Status: Exempt

The Position:

The Academy is seeking an elementary school (1st and 2nd grade) long-term substitute teacher committed to delivering high-quality instruction in all subjects starting ASAP until the end of the school year. This person will resume all teaching duties to cover for the classroom teachers extended medical leave. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to equity and social justice.

  • Belief in AoA mission and philosophy

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and families

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and take initiative

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize student achievement while creating a nurturing and encouraging school environment

  • Experience with and interest in working with high needs students

  • Hold or are working towards California Multiple Subject teaching credential
