COMPENSATION RATE: $55 to $60 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

Teaches and facilitates learning for elementary grade students in a dual language, Spanish-English school, maintaining academic progress, discipline, and records. Works with teachers, parents, and students to provide and implement classroom education to meet the needs of every student.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited College or University
  • Must meet Highly Qualified requirements by one of the following:
    • Colorado Teacher’s Certification in Elementary OR
    • Passing score on the Generalist examination AND
      • Any Colorado Teaching Certification OR
  • Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish desired

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with computer technologies
  • Strong classroom management of approximately 22 students
  • Ability to implement teaching curriculum programs and instruct students on utilization
  • Ability to be flexible and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and student assessment/testing data

  • Support the Mission and Vision of the school
  • Sharing your passion in helping young students develop a love of learning
  • Implement Dual Language Instruction lesson cycle and follow program model
  • Instruct and motivate students to find the joy of learning in all content areas.
  • Evaluate student’s progress, records result, and inform students and parents of progress.
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom.
  • Communicate often with parents to discuss student progress and problems.
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, school committees, school events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Inspire students with consistency, care, and interest to build self-esteem and promote continued success.
  • Be a positive influence for students, compliment them and encourage them to build character.
  • Utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance the student learning experience.
  • Work closely with the Special Education teacher and Interventionists to ensure that student modifications and accommodations are being implemented.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
