Reports To: High School Principal & Vice Principal Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Education, or related field
Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in English Language Arts (Grades 9–12)
Strong knowledge of literary analysis, writing instruction, and reading comprehension strategies
Familiarity with NJSLS for ELA and the Danielson Framework
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Experience in high school ELA instruction preferred
Job Summary: The ELA Teacher will inspire a love for literature and writing, develop critical reading skills, and guide students to express themselves effectively through a variety of literary works and genres. Key Responsibilities Include: Design and implement engaging lessons aligned with curriculum and standards
Facilitate class discussions that promote literary analysis and critical thinking
Provide feedback on writing assignments to strengthen student skills
Differentiate instruction for learners of all levels
Integrate technology to enhance instruction
Collaborate with colleagues to support student growth
