We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated English Language Arts (ELA) teacher to lead intensive literacy instruction and standardized test preparation for high school students. This position focuses on accelerating literacy growth and preparing students for success on key assessments such as the SAT. The ideal candidate is skilled in closing achievement gaps through targeted instruction and data-driven practices.
Salary Range: Starting pay 50,000.00 (negotiable)
Pay increases based on experience.
Starting Date: 2025 - 2026 School Year
Retirement: 401K with 4% and another 4% matching by the school

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned ELA instruction focused on reading comprehension, evidence-based writing, grammar, and vocabulary development.
- Design and implement test preparation strategies tailored to state assessments and college-readiness exams (e.g., SAT/ACT).
- Use diagnostic, formative, and summative data to plan differentiated instruction that meets students' individual needs.
- Create a supportive, structured classroom environment that promotes academic growth, confidence, and resilience in struggling or underperforming readers and writers.
- Collaborate with core ELA teachers, interventionists, and school leaders to ensure alignment of instruction and support services.
- Regularly communicate student progress to parents/guardians and participate in school meetings related to academic interventions.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
- Integrate digital literacy tools and platforms to enhance student engagement and assessment practice.
Required:
- Valid teaching certification in English/ELA (Grades 9-12)
- Demonstrated knowledge of high school ELA standards and test preparation strategies
Familiarity with state assessment platforms and SAT/ACT prep materials - Experience with data-driven instruction and academic intervention
