SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Early Education Principal, the early education music teacher will effectively teach music from a biblical worldview while managing a classroom and building positive relationships with students and parents. The music teacher will teach music to Early Education students.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Effectively manage a classroom.
• Teach early education music from a biblical worldview and with excellence.
• Create an engaging, relational, and joy-filled learning environment with the students.
• Provide excellence in planning, teamwork, and communication.
• Be creative, have a strong work ethic, and think "outside the box".
• Work in a team-centered environment.
• Include biblical integration.
• Engage students in inquiry-based activities.
• Plan and direct grade-level Christmas chapels and Pre-K 4 Promotion

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS:

• Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ; be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice; and agree with the philosophies, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School.
• Have a commitment to the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of Christian schooling as expressed by Southside Christian School demonstrated by their eligible children enrolled in Southside Christian School.
• Bachelor's degree in early education, elementary school education, or music education is required.
• Training in music is required for applicants with a degree in early education and elementary school education.
• Candidates with experience in teaching music to early education students is preferred.
• All candidates must be willing to obtain ACSI certification.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to evacuate students in the event of emergency.
• Ability to sit, bend, stand, as needed in interactions with students.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
