Lead Teacher Opportunity At The Goddard School

We are searching for two lead teachers to join our team at our location in Aurora! At The Goddard School, children are encouraged to develop at their own pace in a nurturing environment supported by a team of dedicated teachers. The program enhances children's emotional, social, intellectual and physical development and provides the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

The focus of the program is to provide a life-long love of learning. Our staff is made of loving and dedicated teachers who understand each child's needs. They are highly qualified childhood educators who are able to use their creativity and the Goddard Developmental Guidelines as the basis for unique lesson plans that are brought to life in a fun and imaginative way.

Daily duties include:

  • Lead teachers the individual needs of the children
  • Lead teachers communicate with parents
  • Lead teachers participate in staff and training meetings
  • Lead teachers design an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
  • Lead teachers interact with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
  • Lead teachers present expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level
  • Lead teachers plan and implement activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
  • Lead teachers communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
  • Lead teachers build teamwork
  • Lead teachers utilize assessment tools

Job requirements lead teacher qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education, elementary education or child development or a related field
  • BA or higher in a related field that includes 18 credits in early childhood education or child development
  • Associates degree in early childhood education that includes 18 semester hours of courses directly related to young children birth to age 8
  • 1 year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 6 years of age and ECE teacher qualification for the state of Colorado
  • Curriculum building for ages 6 weeks to 6 years of age

All employees are required to complete a central registry background check as well as a Colorado and federal bureau of investigation fingerprint background check.
