JOB DESCRIPTION
The Lead Teacher provides a learning experience for children that will help them develop in all domains using age and developmentally appropriate techniques. The Lead Teacher will work in conjunction with the Teacher Assistant in a classroom.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Establish & maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for children, teachers and parents. * Setting an emotional tone for the room that is responsive to children, parents and teachers. * Assess the educational and developmental needs of each child. * Planning and implementing a curriculum that will enhance the development of the children in all areas (cognitive, physical, social, emotional), with an awareness of the needs of children. * Educating and supporting parents as necessary. * The teacher will approach issues and problems professionally and self-reflectively, work cooperatively with colleagues, attend staff meetings, and engage in ongoing staff development.
QUALIFICATIONS
* CDA or equivalent required. * Associate's in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor's in Birth to Kindergarten degree preferred * Two years of related experience required * Experience working with children who have experienced trauma required * Current CRC letter of Qualification from DCDEE is preferred * Reliable transportation * Required to lift 30lbs or more * Bilingual is a plus
