SALARY INFORMATION

Salary Schedule: This position is based on the 2025-2026 Teacher/SSP Salary Schedule, School Based Positions (Group A)

Employees in this category will also receive the following for the 2025-2026 school year:
  1. Non-Recurring Pay: 6% of base salary in Non-Recurring Pay (distributed as 3% on November paycheck and 3% on May paycheck).
  2. Staffing Stability Incentive (Adams Elementary, Galileo Middle School and Mitchell High School):
    1. All Teachers/SSPs (regardless of FTE) will receive an additional $5,000 split over two payments ($2,500 in November and $2,500 in May). NOTE: This is prorated based off of FTE.
    2. Teaching and SSP Staff qualify to receive an additional 10 extra days (beyond the District Calendar), paid at the per diem rate. Five (5) days for USIP design and five (5) days as "collaborative flex" days. NOTE: SSPs receiving extra days (per the Employee Handbook) are only allowed to work a TOTAL of 10 extra days. For example, nurses are allowed to work 3 additional days per the Handbook are only allowed to work an additional 7 days (for a total of 10).
    3. Mitchell High School Only: Teachers/SSPs also receive a one-step increase (paid monthly).
  3. Pay for Performance (Mitchell High School): All Teachers/SSPs receive a Pay for Performance Bonus that is paid out in the fall (utilizing performance measures criteria from the previous year).
  4. Additional 10% to Base Pay for the following Hard to Fill positions: OT, PT, School Nurses, Audiologists, & School Psychologists
  5. Additional 15% to Base Pay for the following Hard to Fill position(s): SLP


Base Salary Setting: Employment, assignment and salary placement, is in accordance with job description requirements. A work history is required to demonstrate job title, job duties and time worked in the position. Reference the linked How Your Compensation Is Determined for more details.

Base Salary Setting (New Hires): Any newly-employed Teacher/Special Service Provider (SSP) will be placed on the appropriate lane for their educational background (BA, MA, etc). according to the official transcripts that are provided. They will be placed at the appropriate step for experience listed on the resume. Teachers will receive credit for a maximum of 14 years for any applicable teaching experience (provided that the experience occurred in the last 15 years).

Base Salary Setting (Rehires): Returning employees who have previously resigned or separated from the District will be rehired at the same step they were on at the time of resignation/separation plus any new experience gained in the same job, provided step increases were approved by the Board during the years in question . .

BENEFITS ELIGIBILITY

Full-Time Regular Employees are eligible for the following Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, District Paid Life Insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Voluntary Short Term Disability, Voluntary Long-term Disability, Medical Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, and the Employee Assistance Program.

Teachers: Teachers in this category must work a minimum of .41 FTE (17.5 hours) per week to be eligible for full employee benefits.

ESP and Exec Pro Employees: Must work a minimum of .75 FTE (30 hours) per week to be eligible. If an ESP or Executive Professional employee's hours are decreased to less than 30 hours per week or a teacher's hours decreased to less than 17.5 hours per week, the employee will no longer continue to be eligible to receive the benefits as of the end of the month in which the hours were reduced.

Temporary one-on-one Educational Assistants . Employees in this category who are working at least six hours per day , and have completed two (2) consecutive years of service by July 1st will be changed from temporary status to regular status and will have the same sick leave as a regular status employee.

Retirees Working 30+ Hours/Week or 140 Days: Retirees who satisfy the eligibility requirements of 30 hours or more per week or qualify for one of the District's 140 day slots may be eligible for the 75%/25% or 85%/15% premium share for employee only premium based on the health plan chosen and 70% for all other premium tiers of the plan (employee + spouse, employee + child(ren), and family).

Part-Time Regular Employees are eligible for the following Benefits: Employee Assistance Program and pro-rated sick leave.

ESP and Exec Pro Employees (less than 6 hours a day) and Teachers (working less than 3.5 hours a day): Such employees shall receive pro-rated sick leave, as well as the opportunity to use accumulated sick leave days as personal leave days based on the number of hours worked daily and are not eligible for all available benefits.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION

This is an instructional position that facilitates students in learning subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women. The employee guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goalsestablishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects and has the ability to communicate these objectives to students. The work plan employs a variety of instructional techniques utilizing appropriate technology, consistent with limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Displays personal qualities which are appropriate for a professional teacher such as: maintains professional ethics and confidentiality; is open to learning from others and accepts constructive criticism; is a positive role model for students (e.g. is consistent, fair, dependable, responsible, and respectful).

The work is mostly walking and standing with periods of sitting. Typical positions require workers to lift and carry up to 20 pounds; climb stairs, ladders or scaffolding; bend and crouch; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards; demonstrate an athletic activity or physical exercise; feel the shape, size and temperature of objects; and physically restrain students.
