APMP is the premier organization for education and certification within the bid and proposal industry. A key objective of the organization is outreach to those who may not know about, or are considering a move into, the profession.

APMP’s Intentional Career Path (ICP) initiative aims to introduce as many potential members and high-quality professionals to the bid and proposal profession as possible. ICP aims to introduce new people to the bid and proposal community by partnering with an accredited and reputable colleges or universities to create curricula and opportunities for future bid and proposal professionals. The role of the Director of Education will be mainly to support APMP’s goal of partnering with colleges and universities. The purpose of the college and university partnerships are to: · To enhance APMP’s education and help place new professionals into bid and proposal careers. · Recruit more quality professionals into the industry and teach them how to be exceptional bid and proposal managers through exceptional APMP approved education. · Create benefits for APMP members through new talent identification and hiring. · Up level our bid and proposal industry. · Partner with higher education to identify and deliver educational opportunities for APMP members and potential members. · Recruit new members to join APMP. Job Duties: · Support the ICP initiative by developing a meaningful strategy to attract new professionals to the industry. Your strategy will be reviewed by APMP’s Board of Directors. · Collaborate with APMP HQ staff to ensure the initiative's work is impactful, marketed, and successful. · Partner with universities to create curricula for adult learners entering the bid and proposal industry. · Network with key stakeholders, sponsors and Corporate Members who will support the association’s higher education initiative with scholarships or sponsorships. · Participate in the development of a formal plan, including the concept, benefits, and budget for these partnerships. · Create a preferred list of target groups to recruit into the industry. This could include former or retiring teachers, military personnel, military spouses, technical writers and marketing professionals. · Report monthly to APMP’s Board of Directors. Summary: The intended outcomes of the ICP higher education partnerships are: · Establish a higher education option for those wishing to enter the profession rather as an alternative to a traditional four-year college or university program. · Programs with partnering college or university that can be accessed 24/7 on the web. · A financial model, leading to a budget for the APMP Board of Directors to consider. · Continually promote the initiative to new audiences to attract new professionals to our profession. · Collaborate with employers within APMP to place graduates in a job. · Celebrate successful APMP higher education initiatives. Qualifications: · Experience in educational program development, curriculum development and partnership expansion. · Strong strategic planning and project management skills. · Exceptional communication skills. This position will create briefs for the university, the intended audience, and various committees within APMP. · Knowledge of the bid and proposal industry. · Adept at working with and meeting deadlines for budgets, milestones, and reporting.
