CTE Teacher - Law Enforcement for 2025-2026

Position Purpose


- Under the general supervision of the School Principal, A CTE (Career and Technical Education) Law Enforcement teacher develops and delivers curriculum focused on the skills and knowledge needed for careers in law enforcement, public safety, and related fields. They manage student behavior, assess and evaluate student achievement, and modify instructional activities as needed, while also preparing students for post-secondary education and careers. .

- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment

- Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

Travel Requirements

- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Work Schedule

- Standard teacher work schedule as set forth in the Teachers' Unit Contract.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.

- In-dept knowledge of, and ability to use, MS Office Standard (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) 2003 and 2007.

- Knowledge of PC and MAC hardware and software.

- Knowledge of a wide range of industrial, technical and technology-related subject areas, as well as best practices in incorporating technology into student learning activities.

- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.

- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.

- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.

- Ability to organize and coordinate work.

- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.

- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.

- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

- Works in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile

Certification/License:

- Texas Certification as a CTE Teacher

Education:

- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

- Masters Degree preferred.

Experience:

- Successful prior teaching experience preferred.
- Law Enforcement experience preferred.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary:
$58,000-$70,000 based on experience
$225.00 monthly contribution towards health insurance
$20,000 district paid life insurance policy
