This is a full time position, part of the day will be spent attending to the duties of the cook and the other part of the day will be spent in the classroom supporting the development and learning of the students.
Daycare Cook is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals and snacks to children in accordance with USDA guidelines and the daycare’s nutritional policies. The Cook ensures that all meals meet food safety standards and cater to children with allergies or dietary restrictions. This position plays a vital role in promoting healthy eating habits and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.
Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting the teaching team in maintaining a safe, warm and engaging learning environment.

- Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to approved menus and portion guidelines.
- Follow state and federal nutrition and food safety guidelines (e.g., CACFP, USDA).
- Accommodate food allergies and special dietary requirements with appropriate substitutions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, pantry, and dining areas.
- Order, receive, and store food supplies in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Keep daily, weekly, and monthly records of food temperatures, menus, and inventory as required.
- Wash dishes, clean cooking equipment, and sanitize food prep areas after meals.
- Work collaboratively with daycare staff to coordinate meal times and ensure children’s needs are met.
Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting the teaching team in maintaining a safe, warm and engaging learning environment.
- Comply with all licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Create and maintain a developmentally appropriate environment.
- Greet and interact with center children, families and staff in a warm and respectful manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Plan and deliver activities in accordance with Infant Toddler Creative Curriculum.
- Maintain children’s education files. Monitor and document children’s development.
- Complete required OCFS training hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma
- Complete OCFS fingerprinting and background check
- Speak English
