The Classroom Teacher engages and motivates students toward academic and personal success; utilizes knowledge and experience with curriculum, teaching strategies and classroom management; possess the ability to differentiate learning for diverse learners; and has a strong commitment to the support the goals and vision of the Long Valley Charter.
Certificated Position: minimum 5 days and not to exceed 185 Days
Specific Duties:
Develop lesson plans utilizing appropriate instructional materials and strategies, supporting the transition to common core state standards. Such plans are to be submitted to the Principal/ Lead Teacher each Friday.
Administer individual assessments in accordance with school's assessment guidelines
Determine appropriate learning objectives for the student after assessing student's needs with a focus on proficient and advanced levels of mastery
Instruct students in citizenship, communication skills, self-awareness, and the development of effective work habits.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional and safe learning environment using positive discipline strategies.
Provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectation and goals
Read and respond to employee_name@longvalleycs.org email on all school days
Make regular entries into contact manager
Participate in faculty meetings, staff collaboration meetings, in-service trainings, and other programs related to school duties that may be held outside of regular school hours.
Keep knowledge current in areas of pedagogical responsibility including but not limited to: curriculum, standards, technology, data, assessment
If assigned, provide supervision to para educator to assist in supporting instruction in the classroom.

Work with and differentiate learning for special student populations including: at-risk, academically gifted, learning handicapped, ESL, etc.

Believe and have worked to implement an educational philosophy that supports high success for all students.
Have a willingness to cooperate and contribute to positive decision-making and problem solving in the school culture.
Be flexible and work collaboratively with all work teams including students, parents, teachers, administrators and community members.
Qualifications:
The applicant must:
Possess or qualify for a valid California teaching credential with CLAD certification
Be certified in CPR and first aid.
Have good physical and mental health
