Job Title: Daytime Preschool Lead/Associate Teacher (Ages 3-5) Location: Detroit, Michigan Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time (Typical Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00PM) Wage: Starting at $14.00-25/hr Reports To: Child Care Director/Center Manager/Administration
: The Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and assessment of the educational program for preschool-aged children. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that meets the developmental needs of children, fostering a love of learning and promoting positive social interactions.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities in accordance with the center's educational goals and standards. Foster a supportive and respectful classroom environment that encourages active learning and positive social interactions. Conduct ongoing assessments of children's development and learning progress, using the results to inform instruction and communicate with parents. Create and maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom. Collaborate with other staff and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices. Communicate regularly with parents to share updates on their child's progress and to address any concerns. Adhere to all licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) or willingness to obtain (Required). Degree's such as ( AA, BA, MA) is preferred Prior experience in child care or early childhood education, especially with children ages 3-5, is highly preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development principles and the ability to implement developmentally appropriate practices. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Strong communication , organizational , and interpersonal skills . Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team. A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to supporting their growth and well-being. Must be available to work daytime hours , typically from 7:00 AM to 3:30 or 4:00 PM .
