We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and reliable After School Art Teacher to assist our team of teachers with engaging visual arts activities for elementary and/or middle school students. The ideal candidate is passionate about art education and enjoys working with children in a dynamic, supportive environment. Sewing machine and ceramic skills a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with planning and deliver fun, age-appropriate art lessons that foster creativity and self-expression
Introduce students to a variety of materials and techniques (drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, printing, etc.)
Set up and clean up art materials and Studio space before and after sessions
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Encourage student participation and support individual creative development
Communicate with program staff and parents as needed
Manage Studio behavior and ensure adherence to program rules and safety procedures
Qualifications: One year or more experience working with children in an educational or camp setting (required)
Background in art or art education (degree or coursework preferred)
Strong Studio management and organizational skills
Creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude
Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed
Must pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching certification or relevant education credentials for college students
CPR/First Aid certification
Experience working in after-school or youth development programs
