Eastlake High School Eastlake High School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and committed science educator to join our faculty for a 1.0 FTE Chemistry and Biology Teacher position. This is a Leave Replacement position for the 2025-2026 school year.

The current schedule for this teacher includes 3 sections of chemistry and 2 sections of biology, and requires high expectations for academic achievement matched with high levels of support. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment and is passionate about guiding young people through inquiry-based science learning.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement engaging, standards-based lessons in Biology and Chemistry.
Cultivate a supportive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to learn.
Collaborate closely with colleagues to plan curriculum, align assessments, and support school-wide goals.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and tailor instruction to individual needs.
Build strong, caring relationships with students, promoting both academic and personal growth.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to maintain a positive learning environment.
Embrace and model the Eastlake credo in daily interactions and professional conduct.
Qualifications:
Required: Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Biology and Chemistry endorsement, or one of these endorsements along with a general science endorsement.
A deep commitment to student-centered teaching, inclusion, and equity.
Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.
A passion for science education and meaningful student relationships.
Preferred: Experience working with high school students (ages 14-19).
Familiarity with biology and chemistry instruction and hands-on lab practices.
Enthusiasm for contributing to a school culture where everyone feels at home.
