ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER / ASSISTANT BAND DIRECTOR Title: ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER / ASSISTANT BAND DIRECTOR Location: District Description: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the music program assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Assist the director with managing the instrumental music and band program at the assigned campus. Provide students with opportunities to participate in extracurricular band activities. Requirements: Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the assigned subject and level Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of the overall operation of the instrumental music program General knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
