St. Bernard of Clairvaux, known as the “Little Gem of East Dallas”, is a PreK – 8 th grade elementary school. We have an opening for a part-time music teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. General Summary of the Position The individual will teach music to grades PK-8 and oversee our school choir. The position reports to the principal. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school. Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. Provide leadership, oversight, and management of all aspects of the music program. Promote the role of music in the overall program of student formation. Oversee the procurement and organization of all music equipment and storage spaces Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom. Communicate regularly with parents, teachers and administration regarding the music program. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal. Qualifications Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCB ED. Experience teaching music at the elementary/middle school level (experience in a Catholic school preferred). Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
