Job Title: Assistant Teacher Department: PRCCC Education Location: Park Ridge Child Care Center Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule:  Monday - Friday (6:30 - 3:00 or 8:00 - 5:00)
SUMMARY: As an Assistant Teacher, your dedication to program development and exceptional ability to communicate, guide and work with children offers invaluable support to the teacher, making you an invaluable resource. RESPONSIBILITIES: Guidance & Relationship Building. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with all of the children and their families; effectively guide the children’s behavior in an age appropriate manner; meet the physical, social, cognitive, emotional and cultural needs of individual children Development. Assists the teacher in providing a developmentally appropriate program for all of the children while fostering an environment that supports their growth Safety & Oversight. Ensure the safety of the children and promote healthy habits; work with colleagues and community representatives to support children and families REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent OR One (1) year of experience working with children less than 13 years
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent leadership and communication skills Demonstrated patience and compassion EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
