Assistant Teacher

Assistant Teacher at Park Ridge Child Care Center. Full time

Summary: As an Assistant Teacher, your dedication to program development and exceptional ability to communicate, guide and work with children offers invaluable support to the teacher, making you an invaluable resource.

Responsibilities:

• Guidance & Relationship Building. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with all of the children and their families; effectively guide the children's behavior in an age appropriate manner; meet the physical, social, cognitive, emotional and cultural needs of individual children
• Development. Assists the teacher in providing a developmentally appropriate program for all of the children while fostering an environment that supports their growth
• Safety & Oversight. Ensure the safety of the children and promote healthy habits; work with colleagues and community representatives to support children and families

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent OR One (1) year of experience working with children less than 13 years

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Demonstrated patience and compassion

Education:

Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

Pay Range: $16.25 - $17.00
