Summary
We are looking for a warm, energetic, and dedicated Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children’s development and learning in a collaborative, play-based environment. The Assistant Teacher works closely with the Lead Teacher to implement lesson plans, supervise and engage children, maintain a safe and clean classroom, and foster positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members. Duties
Support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and classroom activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and developmental growth. Engage with children during play, learning activities, and routines to support social-emotional and cognitive development. Help monitor the classroom to ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment. Supervise indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety and active engagement with children. Assist in maintaining classroom cleanliness and organization, including sanitizing toys, materials, and furniture. Provide individualized attention to children, recognizing different learning styles and developmental needs. Support children in daily self-care routines such as handwashing, toileting, meals, and nap time. Communicate positively and effectively with parents, relaying daily updates, successes, or concerns as directed by the Lead Teacher or Director. Observe and document children’s behavior and developmental progress to help the teaching team provide personalized instruction and care. Participate in classroom planning meetings, staff development workshops, and ongoing training opportunities. Uphold the values and policies of the school and comply with all licensing and health regulations.
Requirements
Minimum of 6 months of professional child care experience Eagerness to learn and grow professionally within the field of early childhood education. Strong teamwork, flexibility, and willingness to jump in where needed. Creative mindset and ability to bring fresh ideas to classroom activities and routines. Culturally responsive and inclusive approach to working with diverse children and families. Dependable High level of integrity Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. Ability to multi-task Strong organizational and time management skills A strong understanding of child development. Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.( or willing to obtain)
