The Goddard School located in Alpharetta, GA 30022 is seeking a nurturing, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to support our Early Preschool classroom, working with children ages 2.5 to 3 years old. This is a crucial stage of development where children grow more independent, develop language, and begin early social-emotional and cognitive learning.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Classroom Support
    Partner with the Lead Teacher to create a warm, structured, and engaging environment using our Wonder of Learning curriculum, supporting play-based and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

  • Child Supervision
    Ensure the safety, well-being, and active supervision of all children in your care during daily routines, play, meals, and transitions.

  • Daily Care
    Assist with toileting, self-help skills, mealtime routines, and classroom organization while promoting independence and confidence in young children.

  • Engagement
    Interact with children at their level to support learning, encourage curiosity, and model positive behavior and language.

  • Communication
    Support classroom communication with families by sharing daily updates and milestones in partnership with the Lead Teacher.

  • Team Collaboration
    Work closely with your teaching team and school leadership to maintain consistency, positivity, and a shared vision for classroom success.

  • Professional Growth
    Participate in ongoing professional development and training to continue growing in your role and early education career.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED required

  • CDA or enrollment in Early Childhood Education coursework preferred

  • Experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children in a licensed setting is a plus

  • Completion of state-required pre-service training or willingness to complete upon hire

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with young children

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the care of children
