Eureka Valley Arts is an art-centered childcare facility Newly located in the Mission on Valencia. We provide an art based after-school program focused on Elementary school age children. During the year we offer full day Summer and Winter Camps.
Eureka Valley Arts aims to provide an artistic safe haven for all nearby kids. Its important that kids and staff feel seen, heard, respected, and safe. At Eureka Valley Arts we support people of all faiths, gender identity, sexuality, race, disability, and personal identity. Every person deserves to be treated with respect. We want kids to grow into their individuality and have a strong sense of self. One of the best ways we can encourage this is by having incredible projects which can shift dynamics for anyones personal needs. Art and STEM are wonderful outlets for exploring your feelings and learning growth. We want our staff to be invested in their own professional development aimed towards education and social emotional learning.
The Position:
We are looking to hire an Art Teacher to our team, this is Monday - Friday, 12-6 most days and Summer and Winter Camp hours 9/10 4:30/5:30. This is a small business with a tightly knit group of families and a helpful team that creates elaborate, thoughtful and mechanical projects. We strive to work together and plan our daily projects and prep before the kids arrive.
Desired Skills must know how to do 4 of the following: Cooking, Sewing (Home economics), Mixed Media, Tinkering, Laser Cutter, 3D Printing, Basic Computer skills, Wood Shop, Drawing, Painting, and a willingness to learn new things.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
General Childcare for children age 4.5 12
Planning and executing various Art-centered projects (paint, mixed media, tinkering, cooking, wood work, sewing, etc)
Cleaning and maintain an organized Studio
Communication with Parents and CoWorkers
Potential evening/weekend work based on special events (staff meetings, Date Night, Adult classes, EVA events)
Requirements:
CPR certified and First Aid
Pass a Background Check
Carry at least 50lbs
Preferences:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Self-starter
Knowledge of Child Development, teaching techniques, and classroom management
Love of art/creating
