Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual for a part-time, on-site role that combines the responsibilities of an Art Teacher and an Aftercare Teacher. This position will be from 1 PM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday.

Art Teacher Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an engaging and comprehensive art curriculum for mixed-grade classes.
• Teach art classes to students in grades K-3 and grades 4-8, twice per week for 50 minutes each.
• Work with students to create scenery for two annual productions.
• Organize and execute an end-of-year art show to highlight student work.
• Plan and manage an art fundraiser.
• Rotate and display student artwork throughout the school building regularly.

Aftercare Teacher Responsibilities (3:30 PM - 6 PM)

• Supervise and engage with students in aftercare activities.
• Prepare and conduct craft activities daily.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children in the aftercare program.
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress and needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
• Experience in teaching art to students of various age groups.
• Proficient in various art techniques and mediums.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for art education and inspiring students' creativity.
• Experience working with children in a supervisory role.
• Dependable, flexible, punctual, and reliable.
• Basic Health and Safety Training (to be completed upon hire).
• Ability to speak Mandarin or Spanish would be a plus.
