Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Science Teacher/Living Environment to inspire and engage students. The successful candidate will deliver dynamic and comprehensive science instruction, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and a love of scientific inquiry. The teacher will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment while meeting curriculum standards and supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.
Responsibilities
Instruction and Curriculum Development Plan and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with state and national standards.
Teach subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, or Integrated Science, depending on qualifications and school needs.
Incorporate hands-on experiments, lab activities, and real-world applications into lessons.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
Use technology and digital resources to enhance student learning.
Assessment and Evaluation Design and implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Classroom Management Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect and active participation.
Establish clear expectations for behavior and academic performance.
Address student behavior and conflicts professionally and proactively.
Collaboration and Professional Development Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the science curriculum.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in science education.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
Additional Duties . Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Qualifications
Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in science education, and Living Environment
Valid teaching certification/license education in New York in Living Sciences-Biology (grades 7-12). Dual certificate in Earth and Space (grades 7-12) preferred.
Experience: Previous teaching experience at the secondary level preferred.
Experience in integrating technology and hands-on learning into the curriculum.
Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of subject matter and pedagogy.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to inspire and engage students with diverse learning styles.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
