Salary: Certified Salary CT ($50,812 - $102,410) Depending on Degree Level
Location: P. D. Jackson-Olin High School

Job Goal: To facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts skills and behaviors that contributes to the development of mature, able and responsible members of society.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, and conducts classes from the approved Alabama Course of Study for Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources with a focus on Hydroponics.
- Assists students enrolled in Agriscience education classes to plan, develop, and conduct agricultural experience activities appropriate to their occupational goals.
- Provide rigorous curriculum that aligns with Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials relevant to assigned agriscience courses.
- Utilizes a variety of teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Coordinates a local program advisory committee.
- Assists and advises officers, committees, and members of the local FFA chapter, participates in at least one program-related competition per year.
- Adheres to deadlines set forth by Alabama FFA for membership dues, other fees, and reports.
- Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations.
- To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society.
- Promotes placement and postsecondary success of students in agriculture-related pathways; assists all students in making informed decisions regarding occupational goals in agriculture.
- Evaluates the educational program and/or student progress.
- Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Maintains and submits records and reports in timely manner.
- Engages in professional growth & demonstrate professional ethics & leadership.
- And performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Agriculture, Agriscience, Agriscience Education, or in a related area.
- Must be eligible to obtain a valid Alabama teacher certificate in Agriscience Education or CTE certification options for Agriscience.
- Note: Employment experience gained in the private employment sector may be considered when filling specified positions, which are not traditionally in the education field, but include specialized training or certifications.
