Mansfield City Schools A full-time Agricultural Technology Teacher position is anticipated at Mansfield Senior High for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a Career Technical Education teaching position. The successful applicant is responsible for the education of agriculture, food science, and natural resources for secondary school students. Instruction will focus on but is not limited to, educating students on career pathways available in agriculture, raising crops, food/produce production, agricultural trends and outlook, and managing a farm or agribusiness. The successful applicant will also maintain the outdoor lab spaces used for students' supervised agricultural experiences.
Qualifications:
Must complete the state approved Resident Educator program.
a. Alternative Resident Educator for Career-Technical Workforce
Development: Minimum of a high school diploma with 5 years of
full-time work experience or the equivalent in the career field, and
completion of a minimum of four semester hours of an approved
pre-service career-technical education program
OR
b. A supplemental license for Career-Technical Workforce
Development Programs may be obtained by an individual who
holds a standard teaching license; who evidences five years of full-
time work experience or the equivalent in the career field; and who
completes a minimum of three semester hours of an approved pre-
service career-technical education program.
Directly Responsible to: Director of College and Career Readiness or their designee
Duties/Performance Responsibilities Implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education, goals, and objectives.
Implement and maintain the approved course of study.
Partner with local business/industry to maintain current workforce knowledge/skills and gain local employer support/placement sites for CTE students.
Participate in professional growth activities (i.e. association conferences, workshops, webinars, curriculum committees, webxam reviews, etc.).
Create and submit weekly lesson plans to the Director of CTE that clearly reflect State standards and clearly convey those standards to students
Maintain accurate student records and use Progress Book for record keeping
Utilize a variety of classroom management techniques to properly supervise the classroom and ensure that students maximize on-task time
Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
Establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with co-workers, as well as supervisory personnel.
Provide for the safety and welfare of students and staff.
Maintain confidentiality with regard to information about students, staff, and parents.
Help foster desirable relations between the school and community.
Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
Exhibit responsibility in maintaining proper building disciplinary procedures.
Model acceptable, responsible classroom behavior for students at all times
Other duties as assigned by the school administration
