*JOB TITLE:* After-School Teacher

*REPORTS TO*: After-School Director
*DIRECTLY SUPERVISES*: None
*STATUS:* Non-Exempt-Hourly Part-Time, Weekdays (typically 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
*JOB SUMMARY*: The After School Teacher will facilitate, lead, growth, while providing
a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and structured after-school environment for students in grades K-5th with some Middle & High school students during after-school hours. This position will play a critical role in partnering with the After-School Director and the Lower School Director.
*DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES (Including Physical Function)*
Commitment to Briarwood's mission, purpose, and culture
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times
Lead and assist with age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, homework, and outdoor play
Support positive behavior and help reinforce school rules and expectations
Maintain open and respectful communication with students, families, and staff
Assist with daily set-up, clean-up, and organizing program materials
Monitor student attendance and report any concerns to the Director of After
School
Provide basic first aid when needed and follow emergency procedures
Uphold program policies and promote a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere
Supervising classes to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive
environment.
Organizing supplies and resources
Planning and implementing educational activities and events.
Ensuring your classroom is clean and orderly.
Perform other duties as assigned by the After-School Director, Director of Lower
School, or the Head of School.
*Education:* Bachelor's Degree, Teacher Certificate, with a Specialty in Reading or Equivalent
*Experience:*
Experience in working with students in a school, camp, or childcare setting
Exceptionally capable in both written and oral communication
Excellent organizational and presentation skills
Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible in a dynamic environment
Proven success at working collaboratively
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
Must pass a background check and meet any local licensing requirements
