Part-time Extended Care Teacher for K thru 6th grade
Monday thru Friday 3:10-5:10 (beginning end of August)
Bay Farm Montessori Academy (BFMA) is an accredited, independent Montessori school for toddlers through sixth grade. Together with parents, the faculty and staff are professionals who work together to instill in our students a love of learning and a respect for others and the natural world.

Work collaboratively, positively, and professionally with all staff Establish a rapport and build relationships with students and families based on trust Set an excellent example for students by modeling honesty, accountability, understanding, tolerance, respect, love, and kindness Multitask, keep calm under pressure, and treat everyone with respect Maintain a positive attitude, flexibility, and a good sense of humor Display excellent planning, communication, and organizational skills Display strong conflict resolution skills Understand technology commensurate with program level requirements Maintain the confidentiality of the school's students, family, and staff Display curiosity and desire to grow professionally Become familiar with or be willing to learn about Montessori education Follow all policies and procedures of the school as written in the employee and parent handbooks Montessori Extended Care Teacher Responsibilities (include, but not limited to): Create and maintain a safe, clean, peaceful, and stimulating age-appropriate environment where all children feel safe and valued Observe, guide, supervise, and assess children patiently while they learn and play Provide the children with snack Be willing to engage children both indoors and outdoors depending on the weather conditions Work collaboratively with the Administration and other Extended Care faculty to ensure a harmonious and well-coordinated experience for all children and families Apply general First Aid care for injuries File Accident Reports as necessary Set up and cleans space at the beginning/end of each day Share in the responsibilities of space management, maintenance, and toileting when necessary Be able and willing to lift, carry, and hold children for extended periods of time as appropriate Keep administration apprised of issues or problems involving students, parents, or other staff members Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school events Work collaboratively with administrators, school counselor, and teaching team in situations where mandated reporting is warranted Ensure the activities foster diversity and inclusion Reliable and punctual attendance Understand the school's mission and objectives and comply with policies This position reports to the Assistant Head of School, who reports to the Head of School.
REQUIREMENTS: EEC certification appropriate for program level High School Diploma minimum Minimum of one year experience working with program level aged children CPR/First Aid certification annually Clear background check A desire for ongoing learning about teaching, children, and education
