Duties of Aftercare teachers include, but are not limited to, the following: Responsibilities Taking daily attendance Planning and executing educational in-class and outdoor activities and events Supervising students during reactional activities Observing and understanding student behaviors Monitoring students for allergic reactions Reporting injuries or behavioral issues to director immediately Ensuring constant communication with reception desk teacher so students can be dismissed promptly Providing students with orderly and quiet environments to complete homework Encouraging students to be respectful of the school and property by leaving classroom, hallways, and activity area neat and orderly Skills Knowledge of teaching best practices partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Well-organized, creative, and energetic Strong moral values and discipline Knowledge of CPR, First Aid and use of the AED
