Position Summary:

The After School Dance Instructor will provide students an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of a specific subject area while supervising and managing their development of the understanding of the craft.   Position Responsibilities:   Supervises students in an after school setting Teaches school students the fundamentals and rules of subject area Supports students in their growth and understanding of subject area Remains committed to our students for the entire semester Records and reports daily attendance  Manages and maintains inventory of needed supplies Creates an exciting learning environment for a wide range of learners Provides student tutoring and/or homework assistance   Education & Experience:   Demonstrated success working with students in an urban, open admissions school Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of subject area Experience in an urban, open admissions school Experience working with and a deep commitment to at-risk students and families Demonstrated record of setting high expectations for students with special needs   Desired Qualities & Characteristics:   Believe in every student’s ability to achieve in a rigorous college or career prep curriculum Achieve results based on agreed-upon expectations Take personal responsibility  Highly detail-oriented  Collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders  Share a commitment to creating great schools in New Orleans Strong written and verbal communication skills Model the FirstLine Commitments  We Work Together We Are Helpful We Are the Safekeepers of our Community We Share Joy We Show Results   Physical Requirements:   Must be able to perform all required job functions with reasonable accommodations, if necessary.   AFTER-SCHOOL INSTRUCTOR reports to: Afterschool Coordinator   How to Apply : Please apply online via: http://www.firstlineschools.org/careers     Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
