This opportunity is seeking an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to support elementary students in a nurturing school environment. Location: Gonzales, Louisiana Duration: Full academic year (contract) Setting: Elementary School Key Responsibilities: Develop individualized physical education plans that accommodate the unique needs of students with disabilities or special needs. Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure inclusive physical activity opportunities. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting activities to promote physical development, motor skills, and overall wellness. Foster a supportive and motivating atmosphere that encourages participation and builds confidence. Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and staff regarding student growth and program goals. Desired Qualifications and Experience: Certification or licensure in Physical Education or Adaptive Physical Education. Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly in special education or adaptive physical education settings. Strong knowledge of adaptive techniques and an understanding of various disabilities and physical limitations. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with educators, families, and students.
