Position: 7th Grade ESL Teacher
Location: Chester, PA
Position Type: Full-Time

Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled 7th Grade ESL Teacher to join our team in Chester, PA. This role is essential in supporting English Language Learners (ELLs) as they develop their language skills and thrive academically. The ideal candidate will foster an inclusive, student-centered environment while collaborating with colleagues and families to ensure success for every learner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary support and liaison for ESL students, staff, and families

  • Recommend appropriate entry and exit from the ESL program based on established criteria

  • Administer required language proficiency assessments

  • Monitor and document student progress consistently and accurately

  • Design and deliver engaging ESL instruction aligned with best practices and student needs

  • Adapt curriculum and materials to support language development across content areas

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure effective classroom integration

  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and support strategies

  • Participate in professional development and curriculum initiatives

  • Support school-wide goals and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (required)

  • Valid Pennsylvania ESL Program Specialist Certificate (PK–12)

  • Understanding of Pennsylvania state guidelines for ESL/ELL education

  • Required clearances: PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience teaching ESL/ELL students

  • Knowledge of instructional frameworks such as RTII, PBIS, and InTASC standards

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to differentiate instruction and integrate technology to support diverse learners
