Closing Date: Until Filled JOB OVERVIEW: To develop and implement an instructional program that will provide the best possible physical education experience for students

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and Illinois State Standards Implement designated curriculum Maintain lesson plans as required by school policy Coordinate the physical education and or Health Education program for the school Provide leadership in curriculum and planning as well as the formation of goals and objectives in PE and/or Health Education Complete accurate records and reports in a timely manner Monitor and manage students' behavior, including appropriate enforcement of student behavior rules Follow professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students' records, parents and colleagues Maintain accurate, complete and appropriate records and files

QUALIFICATIONS: Letters of application Recommendations and/or references Ability to work as a team member and previous experience with teaching physical education is preferred Applicants must hold, or be eligible for, a valid Illinois Elementary Teaching Certificate, including physical education certification Applicants must be able to demonstrate Highly Qualified status per No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Past experience teaching the specific class will be considered first. If no previous teaching experience in the specific class, recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will be considered. The ability to speak a foreign language is preferred
