PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans instruction to achieve selected objectives. Works with colleagues to coordinate the instructional planning for grade level and inter-grade level instruction.
  1. Plans a program of study in accordance with the district adopted curriculum.
  2. Plans purposeful assignments for substitute teachers.
  3. Organizes instruction to take into account individual differences among learners.
  4. Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  5. Utilizes appropriate teaching skills to accomplish selected objectives.
  6. Demonstrates appropriate presentation skills to engage students in their learning.
  7. Employs appropriate monitoring skills.
  8. Adjusts the lesson to meet individual student needs.
  9. Utilizes appropriate closure techniques.
  10. Employs appropriate assessment techniques.
  11. Applies appropriate principles of learning.
  12. Demonstrates knowledge in the content area.
  13. Communicates current and accurate knowledge in the content area in acceptable standard language.
  14. Manages the classroom to ensure the best use of instructional time and an environment that promotes learning and student responsibility.
  15. Manages classroom time effectively.
  16. Manages and provides a classroom climate that promotes self-discipline and the development of realistic and positive self-concepts.
  17. Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, interest centers and the use of instructional resources when appropriate to the unit or objectives.
  18. Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills and maintains a professional rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  19. Performs other professional duties as assigned.
  20. Assumes responsibilities outside the classroom as they relate to the school.
  21. Follows the policies and procedures of the school district.
  22. Fulfills scheduled assignments and extra duties.
  23. Engages in professional growth activities.
  24. Maintains a professional relationship with the school staff.
  25. Maintains personal health, appearance, and attendance consistent with professional standards and district policy.

Qualifications:
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR LICENSE AS REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF ILLINOIS and LBS1 ENDORSEMENT REQUIRED.
