The Preschool Teacher plays a critical role in providing inclusive, developmentally appropriate early learning experiences for both ECEAP and preschool-aged students with disabilities, and peer models. This educator will inspire curiosity, support diverse learning needs, and partner with families and community stakeholders to ensure all children thrive in a safe, engaging, and culturally responsive environment.

Meaningful Relationships
- Foster nurturing, responsive relationships with children that support emotional regulation, trust, and confidence.
- Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, paraprofessionals, ECEAP staff, and service providers to support holistic child development.
- Maintain open, consistent, and culturally sensitive communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom goals
- Design and deliver evidence-based, inclusive curriculum aligned with Washington State Early Learning Guidelines and IDEA requirements.
- Create a dynamic, play-based learning environment that sparks curiosity and meets students' cognitive, emotional, social, and physical needs.
- Differentiate instruction to engage diverse learners and address a wide range of developmental needs and learning styles.
- Develop and implement strength-based IEPs collaboratively with families and interdisciplinary teams.
- Integrate speech, occupational, and physical therapy goals into classroom routines and activities.
- Support seamless transitions to kindergarten by coordinating with K-12 educators and ensuring readiness for the next phase of learning.
- Participate in Child Find screening and community outreach efforts to identify and support preschool-aged children in the district.
- Provide home-based consultations or services as needed to support child and family engagement.
- Serve as an advocate for inclusive education and contribute to district-wide efforts to connect early learning with broader community resources.
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Early Learning or K-8 Certification
- Special Education Endorsement (required)
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development and inclusive practices
- Experience supporting students with disabilities, including developmental delays and autism
- ELL endorsement preferred but not required
- Current or willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within one year
- Maintain a current adult and pediatric first aid/CPR card within 90 days of hire.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- Experience in a preschool or early learning setting preferred
- Must meet all ECEAP qualifications
- Completion of Right Response training required
- Plan and deliver inclusive instruction tailored to ECEAP and special education standards
- Monitor and document student progress and developmental milestones
- Manage behaviors using proactive, positive techniques and serve as a behavioral consultant when needed
- Train and mentor paraprofessionals to ensure consistent, effective support
- Assess and document Present Levels of Academic and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) using formal and informal assessments, including but not limited to the TS Gold.
- Uphold a safe, accessible classroom for all learners-including physical lifting, mobility support, and adaptive equipment use as necessary
- Attend professional development opportunities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Ability to lift and assist students (up to 50 lbs with support)
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, reaching, and movement around the classroom
- Capacity to support students with physical needs and self-help skills
- Comfortable working in both classroom and home-based environments

Salary:
180 Base Salary = $60,204.38 - $117,387.72
4 Professional Days = $1,337.88 - $2,602.96
Benefits: State allocation towards dental, vision, medical insurance, retirement, 12 sick leave days, 3 personal leave days.
Employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check, and Sexual Misconduct background check.
