PE Teachers plan and deliver lessons to students of various ages, focusing on developing physical fitness, motor skills, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits through a range of activities like sports, exercise routines, and games, while also assessing student progress and ensuring a safe learning environment.
Additional Responsibilities include:
Design lesson plans that incorporate diverse physical activities, including individual, partner, and team sports, aligned with age-appropriate developmental goals.
Teach proper techniques for various sports and exercises, demonstrating skills, and providing feedback to students of different abilities.
Evaluate student performance through observation, participation, and skill demonstrations, providing feedback to improve their physical abilities.
Ensure a safe learning environment by enforcing safety rules, supervising students during activities, and addressing potential hazards.
Create a positive and fun learning environment to encourage participation and foster a love for physical activity.
Integrating health concepts like nutrition, hygiene, and stress management into PE lessons.
Regularly update parents on their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.
Work with other teachers to integrate physical activity into the overall school curriculum.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
BA/BS and hold and/or be eligible to receive a current TN teaching license in appropriate subject area.

Have the ability to work in an extended day environment.
Strong knowledge of various sports, exercise techniques, and physical fitness principles

Proficient in the use of personal computers, office productivity software, and common business computer technologies Windows, Word, Excel, printers, copiers, and scanners).

Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly.
