Job Goal: To provide effective teaching necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the curriculum.
Reports to: Principal
Qualifications: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Italian (ITAL)
Knowledge of best practices supporting all students' ability to learn
Evaluation: The World Language Italian Teacher will be evaluated by the Principal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand and adapt general principles of learning; demonstrate thorough knowledge of the subject matter; plan instructional programs meeting students' needs.
- Prepare detailed daily lesson plans with varied learning activities aligned with curriculum objectives; make plans available upon request.
- Achieve curriculum objectives appropriate for the grade level and subject.
- Instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations.
- Use diverse instructional techniques and media.
- Establish effective classroom management fostering respect and positive relationships.
- Develop and communicate clear evaluation procedures understood by students and parents, in line with district policies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, parents, students, and peers.
- Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
- Uphold school rules and policies; provide student supervision and ensure safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven record of great instructional strategies geared toward developing a foreign language
- Strong ability to differentiate instruction to best suit student needs
- Ability to celebrate learner successes (staff and student)
- Proficient in analyzing documents, professional communication, and presenting information
- Demonstration of eagerness to learn and take risks
- Capable of basic mathematics and problem-solving skills
Salary: per URS Collective Bargaining Agreement
