Town of Concord is hiring: Children's Library Assistant in Concord Town of Concord, Concord, MA, United States, 01742 Concord Free Public Library is seeking a part-time Children's Library Assistant. Work schedule: 10 hours/week, Fridays and every other Saturday. Assist the Youth Services team in providing excellent service at a busy public desk and help coordinate children's programs as schedule allows. Ideal for someone who enjoys working with families and young readers in a vibrant, community-focused environment. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 1-6 months library experience Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and customer service skills Compensation Starting Range: $22.69 - $33.06/hr, depending on qualifications. Schedule Fridays: 10:30 AM - 5:00 PM Every other Saturday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Application Process Applications received by Friday, August 1 will receive priority. Final appointment contingent on pre-placement conditions, including criminal record check and drug screening, which the Town will cover. Job Responsibilities Assist patrons with checking materials in/out, using online resources, and answering questions Maintain shelf order, sort and return materials Create cataloging records and perform data entry Support patrons with electronic resources and digital media Perform special projects and other duties as needed Qualifications and Skills High School Diploma and at least 6 months of customer service experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with office equipment Knowledge of library principles, procedures, and automated systems Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with interruptions Work Environment Primarily in a quiet office environment, operating standard office equipment; physical activities include standing, walking, crouching, reaching, and other movements as required.
